Our Programs & Services
Need-based, community-driven programs addressing the root causes of poverty, inequality, and injustice in Jharkhand.
Stop Child Marriage
Child marriage is one of the most harmful practices affecting girls in Jharkhand. It robs girls of their childhood, education, and future opportunities โ and exposes them to health risks associated with early pregnancy.
JGVT has built a robust community-level network for early identification, intervention, and prevention of child marriages. Our field workers maintain active contact with panchayat leaders, school teachers, and community volunteers to receive timely alerts.
How We Intervene
- โ Intelligence network through community volunteers and teachers
- โ Coordination with Child Welfare Committees (CWC)
- โ Police engagement through Block Development Officers
- โ Family counseling and legal bond execution
- โ Re-enrollment of rescued girls in schools
- โ Ongoing follow-up and community awareness
Over 120+ child marriages prevented since JGVT began its active monitoring program, protecting girls' rights to education and self-determination.
We work within the framework of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, coordinating with authorities to uphold the law and protect minors.
Girls aged 10โ18 from rural and tribal communities in Dhanbad and surrounding blocks of Jharkhand.
Empowering 1000s of Women
Through self-help groups, skill training, and leadership development programs across Jharkhand
Women Empowerment
Domestic violence is the most prevalent form of gender-based violence in Jharkhand. JGVT addresses this through a multi-pronged empowerment approach โ building women's economic independence, legal awareness, and social confidence.
We organize Self Help Groups (SHGs), conduct leadership training camps, and connect women with government welfare schemes to ensure they can access their entitlements without dependence on intermediaries.
Organizing women into SHGs for collective savings, lending, and decision-making
